Windows Phones from Sony still a no-go

November 17, 2012

Sony, known for its high quality TVs and PlayStation systems has yet to release a device able to compete with the likes of the Nokia Lumia 920, Apple iPhone or the Samsung Galaxy. Even though they have been on the steady path to failure with Android, Sony has yet to change directions and indeed?has acknowledge that their current lineup is nothing to write home about.?Dennis van Schie, Sony?s Mobile sales chief,?recently was interviewed by Financial Times Deutschland?in which he spells out the obvious which is right now, they simply cannot compete.

He states ?We will create in the near future a flagship model that can compete with Apple?s iPhone and Samsung?s Galaxy S III,?.?and later once asked about the plans for?a?Windows Phone added, ?We have a good relationship with Microsoft and are closely watching the development of Windows Phone.. If it succeeds, we will not be caught off guard??Wait, what..if it succeeds?? Yep, you heard right, if it succeeds? This displays the amount of confidence Sony has in the Windows Phone ecosystem. Their, ?lets?wait and see? approach may just?cost them the opportunity to?jump in before the market is?full of really good offerings from HTC,?Samsung and Nokia. The bad?part about all of this is that?a spokeswomen? noted that a model available to compete with the iPhone and?Galaxy will be?at CES and Mobile World Congress in the first part of 2013?Why is this a bad thing? because, so will every other company that?has the know how to piece together a lithium battery and display. What Sony doesn?t realize is that there are too many makers of Android devices and not enough of Windows Phone, so if they want to compete in the world of phones they had better not only?make great devices, but also be very original. Something that, in my personal opinion, Android is simply not?.MBGW
